7. Will the CWA be with me all the time during my shore leave?
Answer:
It depends on you and the availability of the CWA. Basically, the CWA will be with you for at least the first hour to give you advice on how to get around in Singapore.
When the CWA first meets you, the CWA can give you instructions on what to do, where to go, how to take MRT train and how to return to your vessel.
When you are ready to return to the Terminal, you can take a taxi back to the Immigration Office of the Terminal, do your Immigration Clearance, then take the Terminal's shuttle bus back to your vessel.
8. After meeting the CWA for the first hour, can I go to other places by myself and ask the CWA to fetch me back to the Terminal at a later time?
Answer:
It depends on the availability of the CWA. We hope that you do not treat the CWA as a taxi driver.
9. Do I have to pay for anything during the shore leave?
Answer:
You do not need to pay for transportation that is provided by the CWA. You only need to pay for your own expenses.
10. What if I do not have Singapore Dollars?
Answer:
The CWA can drive you to a money changer nearby.
11. How much SGD do I need?
Answer:
It depends on what you want to do or buy.
For public transport by train or bus, you probably need about SGD15 to go to one or two places of interest and back to the Terminal.
If you are taking a taxi, you can download the "Grab" App on your mobile phone to book a taxi (pre-pay online), or pay for the ride via credit card.
If you are paying via credit card, be sure to check with the taxi driver before you board the taxi. We recommend that you keep about SGD100 at least to pay for local meals and taxi. Most restaurants accept credit cards.
12. Do I need to give any tips to the CWA?
Answer:
NO. You only need to pay for your own transport (trains, bus, taxi), food and shopping.
If the CWA asks you for any money or tips, please report their names to us and we will take action against them.
